ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Thousands of women from all over the country crossed the finish line Saturday at the 46th annual Delightful Run for Women.

The first to cross was Keira D’Amato from Virginia — just three seconds away from breaking the 5k record — running it in 15 minutes and 41 seconds.

But as event organizers tell us she was not the only one walking away today feeling accomplished.

Colleen Miller of Loudonville, NY, ran the race after undergoing brain surgery to correct a chiari malformation this past January. She wore a purple shirt with a motivating message, “First race since brain surgery; what’s your excuse for going so slow?” Colleen finished with a time of 38:28, placing 133 in her division.

Anny Stockman, 91. from Rensselaer, finished in just over 1 hour and 10 minutes, placing her first (and only) in her division.

And a special shout out to the CBS 6 crew who participated in the run.

Rounding out the top ten overall finishers are as follows:

  1. Keira D’Amato (Midlothian, VA) 15:41
  2. Amy Davis-Green (Lake Prion, MI) 15:45
  3. Jessie Cardin (Rochester Hills, MI) 15:51
  4. Anne-Marie Blaney (Rochester, MI) 15:57
  5. Regan Rome (Providence, RI) 16:39

  7. Emma Eastman (Syracuse, NY) 16:54
  8. Annmarie Tuxbury (Bowling Rock, NC) 17:00
  9. Kathryn Munks (Rochester, MI) 17:02

It’s World Book Day. I asked a librarian if she It’s World Book Day.

I asked a librarian if she had a book about Pavlov’s Dog and Schrodinger’s Cat. She said it rang a bell but wasn’t sure if it was there or not. 😉

Books are magical. The way they hold your hand through hard seasons, make you laugh when you didn’t think you would, and somehow remind you that you’re not the only one figuring it out as you go.

A sincere thank you to everyone who has picked up my book, reached out, shared your stories, or even just laughed along with some of my more questionable life choices. It truly means the world to feel connected through shared struggles, small victories, or just a good sense of humor about it all.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: stories bring us together in the best way.

Here are a few books that stayed with me this past year:

My Friends — @backmansk
The Correspondent — @virginia.l.evans
For the Love of the Grind — @sarahall3
We All Want Impossible Things — @catherinewman
The Giver of Stars — @jojomoyesofficial

The Tattooist of Auschwitz — @heathermorrisauthor
The House in the Cerulean Sea — TJ Klune

I’m making a new reading list. What’s a book that stuck with you this year?
An incredible honor to be invited to Capitol Hill An incredible honor to be invited to Capitol Hill on behalf of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile. 🌸

Getting to be in a room with the people who make this race happen and truly “bloom” year after year was so special. From the credit unions to the organizers, the beneficiary @childrensmiraclenetwork to the members of government literally running this race, it’s a reminder that this event is so much bigger than a starting line.

Over the years, the title sponsor (credit unions!) has helped raise more than $12.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network. Let that sink in for a second. What. An. Impact.

Grateful for moments like this that remind me just how much good is out there.

If you’re at the Expo today at the National Building Museum, come hang at noon! I’ll be talking about how to make the most of your race day comeback story…

…but also, don’t call it a comeback. 😉
It’s time for a little hip check-in. 7 weeks pos It’s time for a little hip check-in.

7 weeks post hip surgery…and I’m really, really happy with how things are going.

I’ve been patient (okay, mostly patient), consistent with PT, and very motivated to do all the little things right. For the first 6 weeks, it was bike + swim only. And we just unlocked a new level:
- Elliptical
- Resistance on the bike
- Light walking

And WOW. It finally feels like a workout again. I’m sweating. I’m breathing hard. I’m tired after. What a gift.

But here’s the part I’m most excited about:
I’m not in constant pain anymore. It doesn’t hurt to sit, drive, sleep…or just live. My range of motion feels less restricted. It doesn’t hurt to lift my leg. And I can’t wait to see what this version of me can do.

Huge thank you to my dream team 💛
@colleen0205 with @nikerunning + @scottrileymc at @runeliteprogram @intermountain and the crew at @thesteadmanclinic.

Taking this down time from running to prioritizing my health might just be my favorite plot twist yet. This is going to be fun.

PSA for happy hips + strong glutes do 2-3 sets of 10 a couple times a week (takes <10 min):
• Clam shells
• Reverse clam shells
• Monster walks
• Glute bridges
• Single leg squats
• Dead bugs

Just do it. Your future self will thank you.
I’ve been thinking a lot this week about how speci I’ve been thinking a lot this week about how special women’s running is right now. I can count nearly a dozen women in our sport who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or have recently had kids. That’s powerful. That’s exciting.

A mother runner is at the heart of who I am and who I’ll always show up for (I literally wrote a book about it). I love nothing more than seeing women continue their careers through pregnancy, postpartum, and all the transitions that come with it.

What makes it even more meaningful is how relatable it is. We aren’t just watching performances. We are watching professional runners chasing goals on the roads while also navigating some of the biggest, most personal seasons of life. In a lot of ways, we are seeing our own lives reflected back.

It’s never been a more exciting time to invest in women, not just as athletes, but as whole people. Especially during seasons where their impact is even more real, more visible, and more influential.

That’s part of why I felt compelled to say something after seeing my Worlds teammate, @emmajanelbates, share that her partnership ended with UCAN. I can’t speak to anyone else’s situation, but it reinforced for me how important it is that we continue to support athletes through moments like this.

This moment in women’s sports is about growth, visibility, and progress, but also about continuing to show up and invest in athletes through every phase of their journey.

After three years together, UCAN and I also parted ways in January. I’m genuinely grateful for the support they gave me and the role they played in some of the most meaningful performances of my career, including a national title and an American record in the half marathon.

I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for this community that continues to support me through all stages of life and sport.
If you’ve read my book, you know I’ve got a soft s If you’ve read my book, you know I’ve got a soft spot for a good Chuck Norris joke. So when I lined up at the Houston Marathon and saw Chuck Norris water on the course… I took it as a sign that I need to channel the Chuck Norris energy. CNE.

Hearing the news of his passing hit me in a weird way. Chuck Norris jokes are ridiculous, over-the-top, and also, kind of perfect… because they remind us not to take life too seriously, even when it feels heavy.

So it feels right to honor him the only way I know how… with a few favorites:

• Chuck Norris makes onions cry.
• When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, he already had three missed calls from Chuck Norris.
• Chuck Norris and Superman got into a fight. The loser had to wear their underwear on the outside of their pants.
• Chuck Norris doesn’t sleep. He waits.
• After Chuck Norris won the Tour de France, he made a victory lap.
• Chuck Norris’ calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd. No one fools Chuck Norris.
• Chuck Norris doesn’t own a stove, oven, or microwave… because revenge is a dish best served cold.
• Chuck Norris can slam revolving doors.
• Chuck Norris can divide by zero.
• Chuck Norris knows the last digit of pi.

What’s your favorite Chuck Norris joke?
